My scalp is itchy since switching. Is something wrong?
An itchy scalp in the first few weeks is not unusual and is almost never a sign that something is wrong. It typically falls into one of three places: Most common: The scalp microbiome is rebalancing. Years of detergent washing disrupted the protective microbial ecosystem. As that ecosystem reestablishes itself, temporary itchiness can result. It resolves. Second cause: Residue - product not fully rinsed, mineral deposits from hard water, or oil buildup during adjustment. Rarer cause: A sensitivity to a specific ingredient. If itch is accompanied by visible skin changes or the customer has known sensitivities, review the ingredient list together. To diagnose: ask how many weeks they've been using New Wash, whether there is flaking/redness/visible scalp changes, whether they have known ingredient sensitivities, their normal scalp type, and whether they're in a hard water area.
