Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

If you’ve called Hairstory Customer Service, there’s a good chance you spoke to Michelle, who finds great satisfaction in walking people through their New Wash experiences, and coming up with ways to bring Hairstory to more people.

To the women in Michelle’s Dominican family, well-groomed hair is a sign of inner well-being and outer economic status. The preference is straightened and coiffed, and accessorized with full makeup, heels and a dress. Frizz or afro-texture? Pelo malo, or bad hair. Michelle’s lands just on the right side of “good” – curly but easily straightened – and she loves how New Wash puts the bounce in her curl. But for her less rebellious sister Catherine, New Wash plus Dressed Up allow her to conform to the polished ideal, without it being a big deal. Says Michelle, “New Wash is great because it gives us choice!”
